About Alan Armitage

Alan Armitage spent almost thirty years in the highly-competitive and fast-changing IT industry, latterly as a specialist in computer security. Born in Africa, and educated in Scotland and the USA, he has lived and/or worked in sixteen countries of the European Union.

Now based in Didcot, he combines being a member of both Oxford City and Oxfordshire County Councils with being a part-time member of the Asylum & Immigration Tribunal, leaving him with time to campaign with the Liberal Democrats in Wantage and Didcot constituency. He feels most passionately about civil liberties, protecting the environment, and equality of opportunity. He is married, with three children, who attended state schools in Oxfordshire and are now at University.
